In my case it had to do with driver incompatibility.

I have the same question I checked every part of my network modem, router, cable and they appear to work very well with Windows 10, so this issue is about Ethernet controller. Thanks for marking this as the answer. I'm in the UK and my Realtrk diagnosed a faulty router, while the computer said the Ethernet cable was not installed or faulty - both were completely wrong! If such a defect is found, return the media to Intel for replacement or alternate delivery of the Software as Tealtek may select.
It is also proposed to turn off SplitTunneling, but I don't know how to disable it, and how to find out its current status is it even enabled on my PC?

I've tried all the above. This Software is licensed for use only in conjunction with Intel component products.
